INITIATIVES

Straus Military Reform Project
Winslow T. Wheeler, Director
The Straus Military Reform Project seeks to provide information and guidance to government decision-makers and the public on the challenges of 21st century warfare with a view to achieving more effective, less costly military forces, to avoiding unjustified international conflict and, when conflict has been initiated, to containing the human and policy consequences. Recognizing the invaluable contribution of analysis based on experience, the project draws primarily on the expertise of individuals who have invested their careers in military and government service, and secondarily on academic study.

Missile Defense Project
Hon. Philip E. Coyle, III, Senior Advisor
CDI's Missile Defense Project strives to bring an objective eye to the highly contentious issue of missile defense. The goal is to put missile defense's often confusing technical, political, and budgetary issues within their proper context. CDI's analysts bring their real-world experience and intimate knowledge of the programs to provide reliable assessments to the media, members of Congress, and interested citizens.
