Lily Yali Chen

Lily Yali Chen is the editor in chief of Washington Observer and periodically leads the International Media division at the World Security Institute. Before joining Washington Observer, Chen worked for the English-language newspaper, China Daily, as a reporter and opinion writer on politics and international affairs from 1994 to 2000. She was awarded first and third prizes for the International News Award in 1998 and 1995 in China. Chen studied at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and received her master's degree in international relations in June 2002. She received her bachelor’s degree in international relations from the People's University of China in 1994.
