Aleksandr Grigoriev, Editor in Chief, Washington ProFile
Aleksandr Grigoryev is the editor in chief of the Washington ProFile. Before coming to the ProFile in 2001, Aleksandr worked as a fellow at the International Center in Washington, DC. He received his bachelor's degree in journalism from St. Petersburg State University in Russia and earned a master's degree from the St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance. Aleksandr also studied at Leipzig University in Germany and Kalmar University in Sweden. For nearly seven years, he worked as a political and economic analyst at the largest business newspaper in northwest Russia, Delovoy Peterburg, where he won several professional awards. He is a regular commentator on Russian and Eurasian affairs for media outlets like the BBC, Voice of America and RFE/RL, and is frequently invited to speak at Washington-based events on issues concerning the former Soviet Union.
